Norma Foulger, age 93, loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend passed away on Monday, December 3, 2012 at her home in Ogden from causes incident to age. Norma was born April 25, 1919 in Ogden, Utah to Albert Burton and Rachel Elizabeth Thomas Foulger. She grew up in Ogden and attended Ogden city schools, graduating from Ogden High School in the class of 1937.

She graduated from the University of Utah and had a long career in education. She taught at US military bases in England and Japan for several years following World War II and was excited to attend the festivities surrounding the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. She taught in the South Pasadena, California school system for many years, retiring in 1975 to return to Ogden to care for her aging mother.

Norma enjoyed traveling with her family. Particularly memorable trips were to Mexico City with her sister Dorothy and niece Janet to visit her niece Carolyn Vielma and her family who lived there. More recently she enjoyed a memorable cruise to the eastern Caribbean with her nephew John Taggart and his wife''s family and a trip to NYC with her niece Marilyn Hadd. She welcomed family visits to her home and her guest room was always ready for visitors.

She volunteered at the Ogden Union Station Museum for 26 years . She collected coins and was an avid cross-word puzzle solver. She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as a visiting teacher, Relief Society teacher, and on the Relief Society Compassionate Service committee for many years. She was, to the end, a gregarious, friendly and compassionate woman; keenly interested in the lives of those who were dear to her, of which there were many.

Norma is survived by her sister-in-law, Yvonne Foulger, 19 nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own children, and many great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Orson, Howard, and John Foulger; sisters, Dorothy Syphers Ramsden and Martha Taggart; nephew, Gary Foulger, one great nephew and one great niece

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Saturday from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
