Nora Dawn Yancey

In loving memory of Nora Dawn Yancey who is now painting the skies. She was born January 2, 1977 and passed away January 5, 2022 of natural causes.

Nora Dawn was raised in Flagstaff Arizona. After she left home, she moved to Salt Lake City Utah where she met Jenny Wilson. They had a glorious 20 years together. She was a very loving mother to Tiberius James Yancey alongside Jenny. They were very involved in the L.G.B.T.Q.I.A. movement in Salt Lake City, Utah. Even after their marriage ended, she was very active in Tiberius’ life.

She later met again, and became engaged to Jolyn Alexander, who lovingly remained at her side until Nora Dawn’s passing. Her life-long friends Will and Melody Ryan were also at her side, as well as her family that live nearby. Through technology, even her family that live far away surrounded her with love from every direction, just as she herself enveloped everyone that knew her with acceptance and love.

Nora Dawn was a student of Computer Science and Technology at the American International Academy.

She was beautiful inside and out, always shone a light no matter what she was going through. She always wore a smile and had a gleam in her eyes. In her life, she was a loyal friend. She was a wonderful sister and loving daughter. She loved her son, Tiberius or Tiger, fiercely. She also loved good people, animals, and good food. She had a charitable heart and embraced the struggles she faced in life gracefully. Everyone who knew her would agree the best way to describe her is that she is just Nora Dawn. A true original. She was deeply loved and survived by her family who also supported her and honored her for who she was.
