Noah was called home October 2nd, 2026. He resided in Stansbury Park, Utah with his beautiful family. Noah retired from the United States Air Force and was currently working at the Salt Lake International Airport as the Transportation Security Specialist- Explosives with the TSA. Noah was proud of his knowledge in explosives and loved sharing his countless stories of his experiences.
Noah was born on April 25th, 1979, in Palmer, Alaska to Dennis Cheney and Karen Montandon Thompson. He grew up in Northern California and spent his teenage years in Strawberry, California. He graduated from Summerville High School in June 1997. Noah loved the outdoors and had high grades as far as outdoor adventures go during high school. He formed a love of rock climbing and became very educated in the sport. Most of his pictures from his teenage years included Noah and his best friend shirtless and flexing. Noah enjoyed Cheney family reunions and holidays up at the Dardanelle Resort that his grandparents owned.
Noah served an LDS mission in Detroit, Michigan, then after returning home, attended Ricks College in Rexburg, ID. There, he received his associate's degree in outdoor recreation and met the love of his life, Tiffany Fox. Noah and Tiffany were married in the Jordan River LDS Temple, sealed for time and all eternity on July 7th, 2001. Later, after moving to Provo Utah, he received his fire and rescue certification from Utah Valley University, followed by a bachelor's degree in homeland security from American Military University. Noah and Tiffany have 5 beautiful children and have experienced so much life together. Noah served 20 dedicated years in the United States Air Force as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Tech. Noah was deployed often, took part in many missions, and received various accolades for his service. Tiffany and Noah made close friends with many fellow military families who were Tiffany's support while Noah was gone. They were stationed in Florida, South Carolina, Idaho, Texas, California and Virginia.
Noah was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in various callings including Elders Quorum, primary teacher, young men leader, Sunday school teacher, and his most favorite - Scoutmaster.
Noah was an extreme hobbyist, and was often on to his next wild adventure. He was passionate about the outdoors and loved spending his time camping, hiking, repelling, rock climbing, snow shoeing, kayaking or taking the family out for a ride in the side by side. Noah was also very persuasive and could convince nearly anyone to join him on these crazy (and sometimes dangerous) outings. You always knew you were in for an adventure when he'd say, "Come on, it'll be fun!" Many memories include lots of laughter, adventure, fun, and usually injuries. People who know Noah, know how accident prone he was and that he somehow managed to make that contagious.
Noah lit up every room and was the life of every party. He had a way of bringing fun and joy into any situation. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
Noah is survived by his amazing wife, Tiffany Fox Cheney; children, Kaylie (Tyler) Halvorsen, Braydon Cheney, Alex Cheney, Addison Cheney, Ella Cheney; mother, Karen Montandon Thompson; brothers, Jason Cheney, Adam (Maria) Cheney; step-mother, Janice Cheney; multiple brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces & nephews; and Grandpa Clifford Cheney who he absolutely adored.
