Nelsy Coromoto Delgado Medina

Jan 7, 1956 Dec 18, 2023

Nelsy Coromoto Delgado Medina, age 67, passed peacefully at home in West Jordan, Utah on Monday December 18, 2023. She was born on January 7, 1956 in San Cristobal, Venezuela.

She married Ringoberto Alirio Delgado on April 24, 1979. They shared 45 amazing years together.

Nelsy came from humble beginnings, but from a young age had big dreams. She overcame many obstacles and immigrated from Venezuela to the United States at 28 years old. She gave up her homeland, her career as an executive secretary, left behind beloved family, and sacrificed endlessly all to provide her family a better life. She did all this while she continued to love and serve her people. She was a trailblazer and pioneer. In addition to opening her home to family and friends who had immigrated, she also served her community for several years as President of La Alianza Latina giving opportunity to those starting out in a new country. She led efforts to provide aid to flood victims, volunteered with the 2002 Winter Olympics, helped educate new mothers and made efforts to preserve culture and family history. She wore many hats providing for her family as a florist, travel agent, jewelry business owner, employee at Modern Display, she worked for the Department of Motor Vehicles and lastly her proudest professional accomplishment being a Delta Airlines employee (over 24 years) where she held a variety of positions.

She was well known for her custom design and decorating. She had a passion for crafting and proudly sold many of her creations at a local boutique. She will be remembered for her creative spirit, which was a constant source of joy in her life.

She was a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and always remained faithful to her beliefs. She never said “no” to any calling. She held a variety of them in the church, among her favorite was serving as a Relief Society President and her most recent as a Service Missionary. She had a natural ability to love, serve and connect with others. She made everyone feel seen and important. She approached every task with unwavering loyalty and genuine care; never complaining.

Nelsy was a warrior; she overcame a variety of different surgeries within her lifetime. Some not going according to plan but, despite the challenges she faced, she always persevered with strength and gratitude in her heart.

She loved thrifting, finding good deals, bright lipstick, bold jewelry and cooked the most delicious meals. There was always room for more to sit at her table.

She loved her mother Luisa with all her heart and soul and never missed answering her phone calls every day.

Words can't adequately express the description of her as a hard worker and a giver. She was devoted to family, prioritized family time, especially her role as a grandmother. (Abuela) Her grandchildren were the absolute light of her life and brought her the greatest joy. She was indispensable to her family and will be sorely missed.

She is survived by her husband Ringo; mother Luisa, sisters Elena, Mireya, Alicia; brothers Luis, Alexis; daughters Francys Tobler, Bianca Andrews, Nelsy Frandina Woodbury; son Erick Delgado and twelve grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her sister Esperanza Medina and her father Ezequiel Medina.
