Nelda Wardle, 87, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on January 9, 2021 in Clearfield, UT due to complications from COVID-19.

Nelda was born on April 18, 1933 in Ogden, UT to Elton W. and Margaret Blakeley Wardle. She joined siblings Ruth and Jay Don.

She attended Ogden City schools, graduating from Ogden High School. She received an associate degree from Weber College and graduated from BYU with a Bachelor of Science degree and a teaching endorsement. She taught for one year in California; the majority of her teaching career in elementary schools in Salt Lake City. She was a gifted teacher and cared deeply for her students. She invented a game called Laugh-A-Ball using soft fabric balls that she sewed by the hundreds and donated to area schools, hospitals, and shelters for over 30 years.

Nelda grew up in Ogden where she attracted many friends with her cheerful personality. She was a member of the Chester Street Group and those friends have stayed close to this day. She was always willing to share her talents with others: teaching, painting in her basement, traveling with friends, a love of reading, and a good movie. She was generous with her time, her love, and her wisdom.

"Everyone needs a cool Aunt in their life who drives a fun car, introduces you to new things and lets"

She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Northern States Mission (mainly Chicago), where she touched many hearts with her testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She served valiantly throughout her life in the organizations of the church. She had an unwavering testimony of her Savior Jesus Christ and loved to attend the Temple.

Nelda was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Ruth Wardle Bryan and Jay Don Wardle. She is survived by a large number of nieces and nephews and their families who will miss her dearly.

"Everyone needs a cool Aunt in their life who drives a fun car, introduces you to new things and lets you know you are important to them."
