Naumanuka ‘Ahota’ e’iloa 85, a loving husband, father, grandpa
passed away on March 5, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones in South Jordan, UT.
Nau was born on October 20, 1936, in ‘Uiha, Ha’ aapi, Tonga to Paula Paanepasa and Lepeka
Olive ‘Ahota’ e’iloa second oldest of eight children and grew up in Tonga before moving to
American Samoa where he met his wife Fofoailevaoese Tialino of Tuana’i, Western Samoa.
They married in 1971 and had three kids Olive, Faifeau and Ir before they moved to Laie,
Hawaii. Nau moved his young family to Hawali and lived there for several years and had two
more kids Tavete and Paul before moving his family to their forever home in Utah. Kearns will
be his forever home. He had five children, one girl and four boys.
Nau was a very humble, simple man, loved to tell stories, always loved being around people
especially his relatives, very passionate about family genealogy. He would also foto “massage”
those who needed help. He especially loved doing the lord’s work. He was a dedicated member
of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints with his wife Sharon in the Reno, NV area. That was more a vacation
for him as he had so many families there. Nau was also a landscape contractor and had so
many other trades. He enjoyed his time going to Sunday Anderson Westside Senior Center. His
neighbors will see him sitting outside his apartment in Rose Park waving and talk. He would
always say eat more FAT it’s good for you or would always say IT’S OKAY! Even when things
would not be so good. He will be sorely missed at the family reunions and church functions. We
love you dad, and we’ll miss you so much.
