Nancy Blake Davis

June 8, 1956, to September 24, 2023

Nancy passed away after a long battle with many complicated medical issues. Her last few years were full of many medical hardships. She handled them with amazing grace, a fighting spirit and never showed pain. Nancy was a fighter and a warrior.

She was born to Joanne Ludlow and Merrick William (Bill) Blake on June 8, 1956, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She treasured many memories with her siblings: Steven, Rob, Janet and Annie. She developed a love of camping and boating early in her childhood and always held a special place in her heart for her parents.

Nancy married Jimmie Stewart Davis on April 21, 1974. They later divorced in 1999 but remained close. Their love was unconditional, quirky and has weathered heartache and many storms. They always supported each other through triumphs and heartache with love. They welcomed six kids into their family: Jeffrey, Jill, Kimberly, Janie, Blake and Abby. Nancy loved her children so much. Nancy had a passion for being a grandma to her fifteen grandchildren. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and doing donuts on her jazzy in the middle of soccer fields after games with the girls. Nancy loved doting on her grandchildren, she was very proud of the people that they are becoming.

Nancy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and received much comfort and peace from its teachings. She had a very tender heart. She loved the music of the Church- and also Neil Diamond.

Nancy had an eye for beauty and loved to garden. She could always plant a beautiful garden (All the kids can tell you all about the weed pulling). Her children have many memories of sitting and canning various fruits and vegetables. She was also a talented seamstress, sewing intricate ballroom dresses for her daughter Abby’s ballroom competitions. She also loved crafting, making lots of paper flowers, and beautiful holiday decorations. Nancy also had a great sense of humor. It was a guarantee that if you heard her laugh, you would soon be laughing yourself.

Nancy will be missed by many. She was the rock and anchor for her children. She spent many years in Cottonwood Heights and Logan. She made many friendships over the years that brought her much happiness.

Mom, you have been courageous, brave, and steadfast beyond measure. It is time to be free from illness, pain, and heartache. We will always cherish your priceless spirit and smile. Spread those wings and fly, visit often.

Nancy is survived by her children: Jeffery (Tara) Davis, Jill Morgan, Kimberly (Todd) Simpson, Janie (Juan) Magallanes, Blake (Megan) Davis and Abby Davis, 15 grandchildren and siblings: Rob (Sue) Blake, Janet (Jim) Jones and Annie (Chris) Swan. Preceded in death by parents: Bill and Joanne, and brother Steven.

Services will be held Monday, October 2 at 11:00 AM, at the Starks Funeral Parlor 3651 S 900 E, Salt Lake City, Utah. Visitation for family and friends from 10:00-10:45.
