Monica Rebecca De La Cruz, from West Jordan, Utah, passed away on February 8, 2021.
She is survived by her husband, Joel De La Cruz, and her daughter, Mona.
Monica, “Moni,” was born on March 26, 1964, in Pomona, California.
Moni was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, cousin, and friend.
She was immensely kind, incredibly loving, and extremely selfless. She always opened her heart and home to everyone, whether they needed a meal, a place to stay, or a caring shoulder to lean on. Everyone who knew her would always be welcomed by her. She opened her home to strangers, family passing through, and anyone that needed a place to rest.
Moni was known for her endless strength and resiliency. She faced more obstacles than most have to go through, yet never gave up and pushed through, and still had so much love and support to give others. Her ability to recover was always a powerful reminder of her strength and her will to overcome adversity. Her spirit was so positive, uplifting, and happy. She always managed to smile and share love and blessings. She was also known for her warmth, acceptance and nurturing nature. For so many that she knew, she was a safe place. When you were with her, you knew in your heart that you were loved and accepted.
She was the happiest when she was surrounded by her family. She loved her family celebrations and traditions. She loved to have her house filled with laughter and exchange of stories of the past and present. She will be deeply missed.
