Michelle Leann Smith passed away on Friday, February 28th, 2025, in her home in Herriman, Utah at the age of 45. She was born June 30th,1979 to Sharlene Ann Smith and Boyd Byron Smith. Michelle was an avid reader and writer. She enjoyed the worlds of Star Wars, Middle Earth and Marvel. Above all, Michelle was a sister, a daughter, a second mother, and someone who tried to bring light to the world. She had spent the last two years getting her Associate's of Science in order to begin work helping children as an Occupational Therapist Assistant.

Michelle’s life was devoted to service. She spent many years in service to the Boy Scouts of America. She organized fundraisers to provide for the scouts and became their unofficial tech guru. Michelle was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served as a teacher and in the Relief Society. Michelle was in constant service to her family, being a pillar of strength whenever her parents or siblings needed her.

Michelle is survived by her parents, Boyd and Sharlene, and her siblings, Amy Brooksby (Matthew Brooksby), Justin Smith (Melissa Smith), and Matthew Smith. She is also survived by her niece and nephews Jackson Smith, Caden Smith, Ethan Brooksby, Benson Smith, Alexis Brooksby, and Owen Smith, whom she loved as her own children.

Michelle is reuniting with her grandfather’s Leland Hans Denison and Richard Byron Smith, as well as her grandmother Carol Joyce Denison.

A viewing for Michelle will be held on March 6th, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Mountain View 3115 Bengal Blvd Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121. She will be laid to rest on March 7th, 2025 with a second
