Mike McCauley moved on to his next adventure on July 3, 2021, at home surrounded by family. Born on January 28, 1944, in Salt Lake City to Eugene and Ruth McCauley. Mike grew up in Salt Lake and attended Granger High School, class of ’62. He married his sweetheart Gloria Griffith on February 18. 1965 and had four wonderful children with her.
Flying and fixing almost anything were some of Mike’s favorite pastimes. He had a private pilot license and received multiple ratings including multi engine and was a successful flight instructor. He worked for United Airlines for nearly 40 years. He taught Body and Fender at Utah Technical College. Mike worked extremely hard to provide for his family often working multiple jobs. Fun with the family was found in multiple trips to Hawaii, camping and fishing.
Mike had a big heart and was always busy with projects or lending a hand to someone.
He is survived by children, Teresa Porter (Rick), Kim Prisbrey (Richard), Morgan McCauley (Chelsea) and Amber Smart (Travis); sisters, Susan Knorr and Nancy Gallegos; multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren and beloved dog Briscoe.
He was preceded in death by wife Gloria McCauley, daughter Jenny Leavitt, brother Eugene McCauley and parents Eugene and Ruth McCauley.
Funeral Services will be Friday, July 9, 2021, at 2:00. Viewing will be one hour prior. Interment will be at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT 84123.
