Michael "Mike" Brent Allan

West Jordan, Utah -

Michael "Mike" Brent Allan, aged 62, passed away on July 8, 2023. Mike was born on March 2, 1961, in Provo, Utah to Ronald Allan and Ann (Whiting) Allan of Springville, Utah.

Throughout his life Mike found amusement and joy in the little things. He was known for his mouth-watering cheesecake and way too tight Levi 501 jeans.

He loved to be outdoors and shared his enthusiasm for adventure with his children, often taking unplanned spontaneous day trips into the literal middle of nowhere, as the trips were often unmapped as well!

Mike was never happier than when he was spending time with his family. If you look up the definition of a "hands on dad" his picture will be there. Whether it was wrestling on the living room floor, wiping a tear, or cheering on an accomplishment, he was front and center in his children's lives. Although one of his children was a stepdaughter, he never looked at it that way. He took on the challenge of co-parenting in a way that is admirable and was so respected and loved that he was included in every family gathering her family held. He was the epitome of unconditional love.

Mike had a wonderful sense of humor and his home was filled to the brim with laughter. It was also filled with a lot of Steve Martin, Willie Nelson, and British comedies. Fortunately, his son Gabriel shares his sense of humor so we can continue to laugh in his honor.

Michael is survived by his children, Gabriel (Brittany) Allan, Jilian (John Pattillo) Jenkins, and 4 grandsons. He was especially close to his grandson Mason Habel. Mike leaves behind a large and loving extended family. Michael was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved daughter, Elizabeth "Libby" Allan. In lieu of flowers his family asks that you commit a random act of kindness.

A small, informal, graveside gathering will be held Friday July 21, 2023, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at the Evergreen Cemetery in Springville Utah. There will be an interment of Michael and Libby's ashes at the gravesite of Ronald and Ann Allan.
