Merna Jean Bell Hall Parker died peacefully in her sleep at her West Jordan home on August 14th, 2021, just 16 days shy of her 88th birthday.
Merna was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on August 30, 1933, to loving parents Amy Chesnut and Eugene Bell and stepdad Rolen Hall. After attending Murray High, Merna worked as a carhop and then for the telephone company. She enjoyed a long career in the tech industry after raising her two daughters. Merna so loved her family; she also loved raising her many dogs, playing Bunco with friends, working on countless puzzles, and was a huge JAZZ fan.
She is survived by her high school sweetheart, Grant Parker, of 69 years and her loving daughters: Karen (Terry) Brown and Laura (Evan) Church; 6 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 ½ great-great-grandchildren.
Her family will receive family and friends on August 20, 2021, from 1:00-2:45 PM at Larkin Sunset Gardens (1950 E 10600 S). Graveside services will follow at 3:00 PM.
