Melva Bailey Shafer

Melva Bailey Shafer, age 72 of Cottonwood Heights, Utah passed away surrounded by loved ones on June 19, 2020 in Murray, Utah.

Melva was born in Ferron, Utah to Melvin and Carol Bailey on November 2, 1947. Melva married her soulmate, Earl Shafer on February 14, 1969 in Ferron, Utah and then because their love was so strong, married him again on February 17, 1969 in Preston, ldaho. Earl and Melva were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on December 2, 1988. Melva worked as a cashier for Chevron for 33 years.

Melva is preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Carol Bailey, her three sisters Kathleen, Clara and Rae Lynn and her granddaughter Tayla Marie.

Melva is survived by her husband Earl, her daughters Korby and Korianne and her grandsons Alexander and Aiden.

A viewing will be held on Friday, June 26, 2020 beginning at 2:00 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery followed by a graveside service at 3:00 PM in the Garden of Valor. To participate in the services via live stream from your own home, please view streaming instructions below.
