Maya Mae Mahmood

Maya Mae Mahmood of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away unexpectedly on October 27, 2022. She was 32 years old. Our family is heartbroken by this loss.

Although Maya struggled with addiction and mental illness throughout all of her adult life, She had many periods of sobriety. We appreciate the time we were able to spend with her. We believe she wanted to stay clean and build her life into a life she could be proud of.

Because Maya was an organ donor her passing saved the lives of three organ recipients, and touched the lives of their families. This selfless decision has blessed the lives of so many. Maya will be deeply missed.

Maya is survived by her mother Glenna. Her siblings Xavier(Sierra), Brandy(Bryan), Branden, and Brysen. Her nephews Ezra and Sawyer, and nieces Xiliah and Xadie Rae. Her Aunt Jenifer(Mark), Cooper and Carson.

Currently Maya is in Sacramento. We are hoping to have her cremated and home to us. Due to this sudden and unexpected loss our mother is unable to afford this alone. We will include our Go Fund Me below to help us get Maya home. We have also created a Venmo for this as well at @Glenna-Mahmood

Thank you to all those who loved and cared for Maya. It is invaluable to us to know so many people deeply cared for her.
