Matthew Gary Boswell, age 18, passed Wednesday March 4th, 2020 at IMC Hospital in Murray Utah.

Matthew was born in Murray, Utah on July 3, 2001. He graduated from Copper Hills High School in 2019 and was planning on testing for his EMT certificate this year.

Matthew worked as a mechanic for Jiffy Lube. He had a great zest for life and sense of humor. He had a passion for cars, motorcycles, trucks (especially his old Ford truck) and any type of project that he could get his hands dirty with. He was very involved in scouting growing up. He swam competitively throughout his life into high school and played tennis in high school as well. He loved camping, biking, fishing, four-wheeling, boating, snowboarding, and anything to keep him outside away from his chores.

Matthew took every opportunity to serve others. He would go out of his way to help family, friends and strangers with something as simple as carrying groceries, dog sitting while they were out of town or baking a treat to take to someone that was sick. He was known for going up and down the street in the four-wheeler shoveling snow during the winter or helping with yardwork for many neighbors. He was always smiling, and that smile was contagious. He was an organ donor and as his final act of service he was able to save many lives from this tragic accident.

Matthew is survived by parents Gary and Tonya Boswell, sisters Shannon Boswell and Melissa (Troy) Rial and other family and friends.

Matthew had a particular group of friends that he loved dearly called “The Squad”. That brotherhood will forever be cherished and remembered.

Thank you to the staff at Intermountain Medical Center including the Trauma Team, ER staff, Shock Trauma staff, Donor Services, and other team members that have played such an important role during this time.

I had the opportunity to have Matthew in my English class at Copper Hills. He was such a fun articulate student who was friendly to all those around him! I am so sorry to hear about his passing and hope you know my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
