Mary Jane (Pidd) Ertmann July 31, 1945 – August 29, 2026
Mary Jane Ertmann, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and dedicated educator, passed away on August 29, 2026.
She was born on July 31, 1945, to Harold and Dorothy Pidd. Growing up alongside her older
brother, John (Bill), Mary Jane developed a lifelong passion for music, faith, and learning. On July 11, 1973, she was sealed for time and all eternity to the love of her life, Robert Glenn Ertmann, in the Provo Utah Temple. Together, Bob and Mary Jane built a lasting legacy founded on devotion and family.
Her greatest joy in life was motherhood. She and Bob joyfully welcomed their two sons through adoption—Rob (Robert John) in 1980 and Jay Thomas in 1983. Mary Jane poured endless love into raising her boys and took immense pride in watching her family grow.
A gifted vocalist, Mary Jane shared her talent and testimony singing as a member of the
Tabernacle Choir during the 1970s. She also dedicated much of her life to shaping young minds, serving as a teacher for the State of Utah for many years before concluding her career as a private educator specializing in special needs. Her patience, kindness, and unwavering belief in every child left a lasting mark on all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Dorothy Pidd; her older brother, John (Bill) William Pidd; and her beloved grandson, Xaiden Ertmann. Mary Jane is survived by her devoted husband, Bob; her sons, Rob (Mackenzie) Ertmann and Jay (Kjersti) Ertmann; her grandsons, Xander, Xayn, Xavier, and Xach; and her granddaughters, Kameryn and Reagan.
