Mary Fran Draisker of Springville, Utah passed away Monday, November 21, 2022 after a years-long battle with alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency. Mary was a graduate of Tulane University with a degree in French, a captain in the United States Air Force, and a Vietnam War veteran. She spent her career as a desktop publisher and copy editor and had her own business, MD for Words. She also worked for the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, the National Association of Purchasing Managers, and Arizona State University.
Mary was an avid member of the Springville Senior Center, where she served on the Board of Trustees and as Treasurer. She loved volunteering, playing cards, Bingo, brain class, puzzles of all kinds, genealogy, and potluck dinners. She was kind, smart, and generous and will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
Mary is predeceased by her father, William S. Draisker, Sr.; her mother, LaVera (Tidd) Draisker; and her brother, William S. Draisker, Jr. She is survived by her children, Brenda (Joy) Peterson, Joanne (Scott) Buit, and Trevor Buit, as well as two grandchildren, Phoenix Peterson and Morgan Peterson and her sister, LaRetta J. Draisker.
There will be no funeral, as Mary has donated her body to the University of Utah Medical School. A memorial service will be announced at a future time.

It was quite an honor to be one of Mary Frances peers and Sisters in our Alpha1 community.
What a beautiful Legacy she leaves behind!
I pray angels escorted her and carried her and she transitioned to the other side.
I Can Only Imagine that now she is basking in the love and eternal light.
My most sincere and deepest condolences to her family and friends. The world is a bit dimmer now with Mary Frances gone.
Fly Free and breathe easy, my Friend.

I enjoyed knowing Mary Frances through the Springville Senior center. I was always impressed by her knowledge of most things. In the Boost your Brain class I always wanted to be on her table because I knew She would help us win. She was so humble and only knew of her honors and information if asked. She was a special lady! Lareta , may you find peace in the good memories she left. I loved looking at the pictures. great memories for a great life.
