On Friday, February 11, 2022, Dad made his exit from earth to a joyous, happy reunion with Mom in heaven.  He missed her so much.

Dad was born in Mona, Utah to Sheldon John Green and Edna Evelyn Howarth.  He was number four of five children. He was the last remaining member of his sibling and their spouses.

He was a family man and met his responsibilities and obligations head on.  As young kids, we spent most weekends camping with family, friends, military buddies or work friends. It didn’t matter who joined us we always had fun.  When the generation of grandkids started appearing, Flaming Gorge became our second home. This annual trek continued for over 38 years.  As a way to connect with his growing family he created the “Grandpa handshake”.  Visits always started and ended with his special handshake and a hug.

His retirement project included raising Norwegian Fjord horses with his Army buddy Cliff. His horses were the highlight of many parades and showings over the years. They were lucky enough to participate in the Utah Centennial Wagon Train from Logan to Cedar City, where he met many amazing people along the way.

Dad was very proud to be a veteran of the United States Army Reserves.  He enlisted on his 18th birthday and served proudly until he retired on his 60th birthday.  He loved to talk “Army” with anyone who would listen.  He always had a deep appreciation and respect for his fellow “Brothers”.

He was preceded in death by his loving bride, Adlia Joan, parents Sheldon and Edna, siblings Dwain (Ruby), Beverly (Ken), Elnora, Doris (Keith). His daughter-in-law Sherri, grandson Ryan, great-granddaughter Adelyn, and many friends throughout his lifetime.

He is survived by his children; Sandra, Cynthia (Mark), Rodney (Connie), and Bryant. His grandchildren; Jason (Nicole), Stephanie (Brandon), Jon, Dani Lynn (Doug), Angela, Marci (Justin), Mindi, Stephen (Angie), Amie (Brian), Jo (Tiffany), Michael (Jennifer), Kyle, Monica (Tyler), Jen (Clay), along with his many great grandchildren; Trevon (Katie), Teia, Kylee, Kyson, Braydon, Levi (Mary), Gatlon (Amelia), Maddon, Blakely, Aubry (Kasen), Beau, Shannon (Riley), Christopher, Jasmine (Steven), Isabelle, Brooke, Wyatt, Nicole, Paige, Kelsee, Whittney, Tony, Shelby, Brody, Baily, Cheyenne (Brittany), Madison (Oakley), Beau, Katie, Garrett, Eric, Joshua, Gunnar, Allison, Sadie, Braylynn, Mikayla, Collin, Caleb, and 6 great-great grandchildren: Silas, Emmaline, Zaylee, Lennon, Trigger, Monroe, and 2 more on the way.

Dad was so proud that his posterity had made it to 5 generations. He truly made a point to know each and every one of them, even those who lived long-distance.

Dad, you have lived an amazing life. May you go in peace knowing that you have done an awesome job.  You are loved and will be missed by so many.

Sandy my sweet friend, You are a hero to both of your parents for stepping up and being there for them. I guess it takes amazing parents to have such an amazing daughter. He is such a handsome man and very loved. You did a beautiful job with the obituary and I am sure the services will be the same. So blessed to have you in my life. Sending love.
