Marlene Griffiths Guevara passed away on April 12, 2023 at the age 84 in South Jordan, Utah, from the effects of Alzheimer’s Disease.

Marlene was born March 5, 1939, to Marvin K. and Alice L. Griffiths in Salt Lake City, Utah, who preceded her in death. She graduated from West High School where she met the love of her life, Manuel R. Guevara, in Spanish class; They were to be together from that time on. She often reminisced about her childhood and visiting Roosevelt with her mother to visit family, attending the Lucero Ward with Manuel where lots of good times were had, and working at Royal Globe.

Manuel and Marlene were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on January 20, 1961. Marlene loved traveling, especially to Mexico where many family trips were made together. She was a wonderful cook and could figure out dishes from her favorite restaurants and cook it to perfection. Her family was the center of her life, she was so loving and caring.

She touched many lives while she was here, and she will live on through the memories of those she sought to befriend.

She is survived by: Husband Manuel R. Guevara, Son Jeffery L. (Jill) Guevara, Daughter Lisa (Wes) Robinson, Son Gregory L. Guevara, 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, and sister Larue Quilter, who will all cherish her sweet memories.

Our deepest gratitude to Trina Anderson (The Sheridan staff), Mandy Turner, Maggie Mitchell and The Pheasant Run staff for all the love, caring and friendship given to mom and our family the past few years.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at 11:00 AM with a viewing held two-hours prior beginning at 9:00 AM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123. Interment will immediately follow at the same location.
