Our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother Marion Peterson peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father on Monday, January 11, 2021 in her home of 61 years in Taylorsville, Utah. We are comforted by knowing there was a joyful reunion with those that proceeded her in death, including: her husband Zane, her daughter Robin, her parents Paul and Viola Ebert, her brothers Paul and Donald and sister Joyce.

Marion grew up near Little Cottonwood Canyon in Granite, Utah and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved sharing memories with her family about the adventures she had with her siblings Paul (Beth), Donald (Marilyn), Joyce (Leon) and Viola (Val). Some of her favorite stories included her parents fruit farm, helping her father deliver fruit to neighbors in need, bottling fruits and jams with her mother and playing with cousins and friends in the lily pond, on their property. She loved sharing memories about trips to Lagoon and going downtown to Salt Lake City. She was also so proud to be a Jordan Beet Digger! As a young adult, she worked at Sweets Candy and also worked as a switchboard operator in Midvale.

In 1953 she met the love of her life, Zane Peterson. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity on February 26, 1954. They settled in Taylorsville where they raised their two daughters, Vicky (Alan) and Robin. Marion will be remembered for her quiet service to friends, neighbors and family. She often sent letters and cards in the mail and made phone calls to brighten someone’s day. She was a member of the Relief Society for 72 years and served as a Sunday School teacher for nearly 20 years. She loved gathering her family together for Family Home Evening, singing hymns and having barbecues. Her faith and family meant everything to her.

Marion especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren Kelly (Renee) and Stephanie (Corey) and great-grandchildren (Weldon, Porter, Hunter, Titan, Mia, Jackson, and Raegan).

There will be a public viewing, in person, on Saturday, January 16, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Larkin Sunset Gardens 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah. Please follow all Covid-19 social and physical distancing guidelines and please wear a mask. Funeral services are limited to immediate family only, on Monday, January 18, 2021 at 2:00 PM, however, a zoom link will be provided for those who wish to watch funeral services from their home.

Dear Vicky,

I just saw your mothers obituary today and I want to tell you how very sorry I am for your loss. I loved your mom! She was one of the sweetest, most humble woman I have ever known. Its such a blessing to know that she is reunited with her sweet husband and daughter and that she is no longer struggling with her health. I want you to know how much I enjoyed getting to know you with all your trips to the pharmacy for your mom and Robin. You are such an example of serving and loving. May Heavenly Father's blessings be with you and your sweet family and bring you comfort and peace. Love Linda, (from the Pharmacy)
