Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother Marilyn R Monson passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband and son on November 11, 2023.

Born on May 20, 1946 in Anaconda, Montana to Marven Don Jensen and Leone Richardson. She moved with her family to Midvale, UT in 1949. Graduating from Hillcrest High School in 1964, and then attended BYU in 1965.

Marilyn and Lynn were married on October 11, 1968 in the Salt Lake Temple. They then moved to Highland Utah in 1978 to raise their family.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings throughout her lifetime and was a faithful member. She enjoyed her callings in the choir and found comfort in singing and listening to hymns, you could often find her at the piano playing music and singing. Her true calling in life was genealogy and worked diligently on our family history. Marilyn was known for her talents with gardening and cherished her Iris and Rose gardens, teaching her children through hard work and determination how to grow beautiful vegetable gardens. In her later years she enjoyed substitute teaching at Highland Elementary and serving her community.

Marilyn is survived by her loving husband, Gary Lynn, and children: Steven Alan Monson (deceased), Royce Louis Monson, Gary Warren Monson, Clinton Paul (Michelle) Monson, Karin Lynette (Travis) Austin, Marven Anthony (Annalee) Monson, Thomas Lynn Monson (deceased), Camille LeAnn Monson and Michael Curtis (Kendra) Monson.

Marilyn’s enduring legacy includes seventeen grandchildren, & one great-grandchild, each of whom she adored. Every moment she spent with them brought her immense joy and she loved them all deeply.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, as well as siblings, Diane Beutler, Alan Jensen, and Janice Jensen.

The viewing will be held Wednesdays November 15, 2023, from 6pm – 8pm at 5848 W 11000 N, Highland, UT 84003

Funeral services will be held on Thursday November 16, 2023, with a viewing from 9:30am to 10:30am. The funeral will be held in the Chapel at 11:00am, located at 5848 W 11000 N, Highland, UT 84003.

Interment will be at 12:30pm at the Highland City Cemetery, located at 6200 W 11000 N Highland, UT 84003.
