Marilyn June Oberhansly Snyder Miller

Jun 10, 1931 Dec 26, 2023

Marilyn June Oberhansly Snyder Miller, born June 10, 1931, in Neola, Utah, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on December 26, 2023. She was the beloved daughter of Wilford and Emma Oberhansly and grew up cherishing the simple joys of farm life. She was 12 when her dad put her on their new tractor to drive home from Roosevelt to Neola with strict instructions to not step on the break.

In 1950, she married her high school sweetheart, Don Snyder, and together they lovingly raised their two daughters, Leslie and Sheila. A lover of the outdoors, they spent their time camping and hunting with friends and were instrumental in founding Beehive Wasatch Bow Hunters. She served as secretary for many years in the club where she formed lifelong friendships. Don’s passing in 1979 marked the end of a beautiful partnership.

A pillar of strength and love, Marilyn remarried and shared 29 wonderful years with her loving husband, Derrell Miller. They cherished their adventures together, especially their passion for hunting and fishing in Alaska. Additionally, they treasured their time in Heber, Utah, where they fostered deep friendships within the community.

An adventurer at heart, Marilyn embraced life’s thrills, living it to the fullest. You would often find her at Disneyland in the front seat of Thunder Mountain, where her family would fight to sit next to her because it was so fun to listen to her laugh. She was an avid Utah Jazz fan and loved cheering her team on from home or the stands. She marked her 85th birthday with the exhilarating experience of skydiving with her family. Her life was enriched by her friendships and involvement in the Pinochle Club that she maintained for over 50 years. For Marilyn the greatest thrill in life lay in the love she shared and the memories she created with her family.

Marilyn cherished animals, especially her Belgian Malinois, Bandit. Her passion for life, coupled with her devotion to family, defined her remarkable journey. Her absence leaves an irreplaceable void in our hearts and those who knew her, but her spirit and memoires will forever be cherished.

In her passing, she joins her husband’s Don and Derrell, parents, 5 brothers, 4 sisters, and her grandson Landon Hermansen. Her legacy extends through her daughters Leslie Hermansen, Sheila (Rick) Farley, grandchildren Rikelle (Michael) Brande, Traci Farley, Travis Farley, and her great grandchildren Cameron (Cailey) Brande, Amelia Brande, Elise (Adam) Brande-Marsh, Lucas Brande, and many nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank all her Doctors and Nurses at St Marks Hospital and especially her homecare nurse, Christine for their kindness and love you showed our Granny.
