Maria "Lupe" Guadalupe Nava Ruiz

Maria Guadalupe Nava Ruiz, age 55, passed away on September 14, 2020 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on March 28, 1965 in Durango, Mexico to Jesús Ruiz Vázquez and Teresa de Jesús Hernández. She married Juan José Nava Avila whom she had 5 children and 12 grandchildren with in a lapse of 38 years together.

Lupe LOVED cooking. She felt accomplished when learning to make new dishes. Lupe genuinely believed food brought everyone together and never needed a special occasion to do so. Especially if dancing and music were going to be involved. She will be missed for being the life of the party and the heart of the family.

She is survived by her father, Jesús, her husband, Juan, 2 sisters; Petra and Laura, 3 brothers; Jesús, Ascension, Gerardo, 5 children; German, Angela, Naitze, Cynthia, and Natalia, and 12 grandchildren; Germain, Daijah, Jeremiah, Tatyana, Keisha, Talavera, Brandon, Angel, Emir, Gloria, Juan, Ezlyn, and Luis. They will all miss her terribly.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Juan José Ruiz Hernandez (11-17-2015) nephew Hanniel Ivan Ruiz Hernández (06-11/2011) her loving mother, Teresa de Jesús Hernández (3-23-2020)

Following Salt Lake County’s mandate on facial coverings, face masks are required at all public gatherings. Social distancing will be enforced. For those unable to attend the services, Memorial Mortuaries and Cemeteries are offering a livestreaming of the funeral service on Zoom.
