Margarita Maria Pereira

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Margarita Maria Pereira, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Although we are deeply saddened by the void her loss will leave in our lives, we are equally joyful that she is free from pain and reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. She passed peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at the age of 69.

Margarita was born on February 23, 1954, to Victoria Eduviges Moreno Moreno and Juan Gilberto Munoz Eyzaguirre in Santiago, Chile. She was raised alongside one brother and four sisters. Although contracting Rheumatic Fever as a child and consequently enduring a lifetime of health issues Margarita made resilience and a positive attitude some of her defining characteristics. Due to Rheumatic Fever Margarita was not able to finish high school but later finished her GED at Salt Lake Community College.

Margarita was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission as a youth in the Chile-Santiago North Mission from 1977-1978. Later she served in the Salt Lake Inner-City Mission Program, serving with her husband for 4 and a half years. Margarita served in various callings throughout her life and made sure to always call her ward sisters and friends to make sure they felt cherished and loved.

Margarita loved music and singing. In 1978 she joined a return missionary choir, where she met and later civilly married Domingo Alex Pereira, on April 25, 1979. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Santiago, Chile Temple on September 29, 1983, with their two infant sons, Alex Esteban Pereira and Juan Hector Pereira, by their sides. Their Daughter Margarita Alejandra Terry was born two years later in Logan, UT.

Margarita was busy throughout her life working, caring for her home, and most importantly caring for her children. She was a hard worker and instilled those values in her children. She studied Interior Design and spent time working in various capacities. Margarita has always been gifted at working with her hands and loved to knit and crochet throughout her life. On any given weekend or evening you would most likely find her knitting or crocheting, watching her favorite Chilean TV programs and news, having mate (teatime) with her husband, or spending time with family. Margarita took special pride in her grandchildren and always had a light in her eyes whenever she was able to spend time with them. All her grandchildren have an immense love for their “Yaya”.

Margarita is preceded in death by her parents (Victoria Eduviges Moreno Moreno and Juan Gilberto Muñoz Eyzaguirre) and her younger sister, Victoria Alejandra Muñoz Moreno. She is survived by her husband Domingo Alex Pereira, her children Alex Esteban Pereira (Katia Alvarez), Juan Hector Pereira, and Margarita Alejandra Terry (Bradley Terry), and 7 Grandchildren that loved their “Yaya” very much: Ataylie Elize Pereira (22), Maleesa Reigh Pereira (20), Alex Jose Pereira (12), Martha Victoria Pereira (10), Victoria Eva Terry (7), Jackson Morris Terry (4), and Brooks Jeter Terry (21 months). She is also survived by her oldest siblings Juan Ramon Muñoz Moreno, Victoria del Carmen Muñoz Moreno, Griselda Muñoz Moreno, and Bernardita Cecilia Muñoz Moreno.

There will be a viewing at 9:00 am on Friday, April 28th, 2023, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am at the Church Meetinghouse, Murray 2nd Ward, located at: 363 East Vine Street, Murray UT 84107,

Nos entristece profundamente anunciar el fallecimiento de Margarita María Pereira, nuestra

amada esposa, madre, abuela y hermana. Aunque estamos muy sentidos por el vacío que su partida dejará en nuestras vidas, estamos igualmente felices de que ella esté libre de dolor y que este ahora reunida con sus seres queridos que han partido antes que ella. Ella falleció tranquilamente, con su familia a su lado, el jueves 13 de Abril de 2023, a la edad de 69 años.

Margarita nació el 23 de Febrero de 1954, hija de Victoria Eduviges Moreno Moreno y

Juan Gilberto Muñoz Eyzaguirre en Santiago, Chile. Ella creció junto a un hermano y cuatro hermanas. Ella contrajo fiebre reumática cuando era niña y en consecuencia, hubo de soportar toda una vida de desafios con su salud, Margarita hizo de su resiliencia y actitud positiva, algunas de sus características definitorias a lo largo de su existencia. Debido a sus desafios medicos, Margarita no pudo terminar la escuela secundaria, pero más tarde terminó su GED en Salt Lake Community College en Lago Salado.

Margarita fue un miembro fiel de La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días y sirvió como misionera de tiempo completo en la Misión Chile-Santiago Norte de 1977 a 1978.

Más tarde sirvió una mision de servicio en el Programa de Inner-City Mission en la Ciudad de Lago Salado, sirviendo con su esposo durante 4 años y medio. Margarita sirvió en varios llamamientos a lo largo de su vida y siempre se aseguró de contactar a sus hermanas y amigas de barrio para velar por su bienestar, demostrando su sincera preocupacion y amor por ellas. Margarita amaba la música y el canto. En 1978 se unió a un coro de misioneros de retornados, donde conoció y posteriormente se casó civilmente con Domingo Alex Pereira, el 25 de Abril de 1979.

Fueron sellados por esta vida y por toda la eternidad en el Templo de Santiago, Chile el 29 de Septiembre de 1983, con sus dos hijos pequeños, Alex Esteban Pereira y Juan Héctor Pereira. Su hija Margarita Alejandra Terry nació dos años. más tarde en Logan, UT.

Margarita estuvo ocupada durante toda su vida trabajando, cuidando su hogar y por sobre todo cuidando de sus hijos. Ella era muy dedicada y responsible en su trabajo, valores que inculcó en sus hijos. Estudió Diseño de Interiores y pasó tiempo trabajando en diferentes asignaciones. Margarita siempre ha sido talentosa para trabajar con sus manos y siempre le encantó tejer a palillo y crochet, talento que heredo de su madre y que practico toda su vida. Ahora ultimo estaba empeñada en enseñar a sus dos nietas mas pequeñas, Martita y Victorita.. En cualquier fin de semana o por las tardes, lo más probable es que la encuentrarian tejiendo, mientras veia sus programas favoritos de la TV chilena , tomando una taza de mate con su esposo. Margarita se enorgullecía especialmente de sus nietos y siempre tenía una luz en sus ojos cada vez que podía pasar tiempo con ellos. Todos sus nietos tienen un inmenso amor por su "Yaya"

Margarita es precedida en la muerte por sus padres (Victoria Eduviges Moreno Moreno y Juan Gilberto Muñoz Eyzaguirre) y su hermana menor, Victoria Alejandra Muñoz Moreno. Le sobreviven su esposo Domingo Alex Pereira, sus hijos Alex Esteban Pereira (Katia Alvarez), Juan Hector Pereira y Margarita Alejandra Terry (Bradley Terry), y 7 nietos que aman y que van a extrañar mucho a su "Yaya": Ataylie Elize Pereira (22), Maleesa Reigh Pereira (20), Alex Jose Pereira (12), Martha Victoria Pereira (10), Victoria Eva Terry (7), Jackson Morris Terry (4) y Brooks Jeter Terry (21 meses). Habrá un velorio a las 9:00 am el viernes 28 de Abril de 2023, seguido de un servicio funerario a las 11:00 am en la Capilla del Barrio Murray 2nd, ubicado en: 363 East Vine Street, Murray UT 84107.

Posteriormente ,el cortejo fúnebre llevará a Margarita a su lugar de descanso final, en el

Cementerio de la ciudad de Logan, Utah. Ubicado en: 1000 North 1200 East, Logan UT 84321.
