Marba Ann Murray Evans

Nov 23, 1932 Apr 3, 2023

Cottonwood Heights, Utah- Marba Ann Murray Evans, age 90 passed away peacefully on April 3rd, 2023.

Marba was born on November 23, 1932, in Provo Utah to Mildred and Grant Murray. After Grant’s passing, Mildred married Ray Jackson. Marba graduated from South High School in 1950. She worked briefly as a receptionist at a doctor’s office and then spent her career with Job Service/Employment Security, retiring, in December 1992.

Marba married the love of her life, Lawrence (Larry, Larky, Sonny) Evans in the Salt Lake temple on March 19, 1953. They had four child Kevin, Dirk, Tim, and Marianne. Her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother. She was gentle, loving, and selfless to a fault. Marba and Larry lived in California when they were first married while Larry was in the Military. They moved back to Utah and purchased their home in Cottonwood Heights. Larry worked out of town and the family would travel with him when they could. She would often speak about the time they lived in Hawaii. She was very social and loved traveling with her family and friends. Her favorite place was Alaska, where they spent many summers making new friends. She loved to entertain family and friends with her delicious cooking and the parties were unforgettable.

Marba is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Larry, who lovingly, patiently, and diligently cared for her during her final years as she endured dementia; her four children Kevin (Toni) Chandler, AZ, Dirk (LaVon) Evans Taylorsville, UT, Tim (Barbie) Evans Bellview, WA, and Marianne (Mike) Stevens Eagle Mountain, UT. Eleven grandchildren, four in-law grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that adored her.
