Manu Mapuáho a.k.a Sosaia Seleti Mafi was born on the 18th of April, 1928. He returned home to our Heavenly Father peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loved ones on August 27, 2020 at the age of 92.

Sosaia was born to Silika Mahe and Seleti Mafi of Kolomotuá, Tongatapu. He married the love of his life Loata Pulini from Vaimalo, Vavaú on the 29th March, 1951, and they resided in Sopu, Tongatapu to raise their family of 10 kids (five boys and five girls). Sosaia had lived a full rich life and truly loved what he did, making sure he provided for his family.

Every year on Christmas Day, Sosaia would go back to Sopu and prepare a fakaafe to give back to the church of Sopu Taufaahau. He did this for 61 years. God blessed his life of peace, love, happiness, and health. He was a man of hard work, integrity, honesty and a man of God.

Sosaia is a Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Great Great Grandfather, Uncle, Brother and Friend.

He is Survived by his lovely wife, Loata, 10 children: Nuku mo Vahai (Wendy) Mafi, Sione Foliaki (Heather) Mafi, Fakalelu (Inoke) Katoa, Sione Mafua (Seini T) Mafi, Kilisimasi Mafi, Katoakakala Mafi, Talanoa moe tohi (Kapukava) Finau, Sosefina (Sione) Pilivi, Amelia Mafi, and Sosaia sii (Senifa) Mafi. 43 Grandchildren, 54 Great Grandchildren, one Great Great Grandchild. One brother Paula Mafi, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020 from 10:00 AM -1:45 PM, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123. Interment will take place following the service at the same location.

Following Salt Lake County’s mandate on facial coverings, face masks are required at all public gatherings. Social distancing will be enforced. For those unable to attend the services, Memorial Mortuaries and Cemeteries are offering a livestreaming of the funeral service on Zoom.
