Macaria Báez Rodriguez, 99, of West Valley City, passed away peacefully on November 3.

Macaria was born on March 10, 1922 to Pedro Baez Rea and Margarita Rodriguez Villafaña in Villa de Santiago, Salamanca, Guanajuato, Mexico. Macaria spent her formative years on the ranch in which her father worked attending school until the age of 14.

Macaria met her husband, Guadalupe Morales Reyes in Monterrey Mexico in 1950. They married and went on to have four children, Maria de los Angeles Morales Báez, Juan Apolinar Morales Báez, Guadalupe Venancio Morales Báez, Maria de Jesus Morales Báez.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother Macaria also loved arts and crafts. She loved making bags out of Raffia palms and would frequently sell them while living in Mexico. The gospel of Jesus Christ was of utmost importance to her. Throughout her entire life she held an unwavering faith in God and His son Jesus Christ; which she shared with those who surrounded her.

Macaria was predeceased by her el Señor ha redimido a mi alma he visto su gloria y estoy para siempre envuelto entre sus brazos spouse Guadalupe Morales Reyes and her children Maria de los Angeles Morales Báez and Juan Apolinar Morales Báez She is survived by her son Guadalupe Venancio Morales Báez and daughter Maria Ojeda. The viewing will be held Sunday evening 11/7 at 6:00 P.M. directly followed by the funeral service at 8:00 P.M.
