Lynn J Taylor, 78, passed away peacefully February 21, 2024, after battling pancreatic cancer. Lynn was born June 28, 1945, in Payson, Utah, to Ned Tanner Taylor and Edna June Mortensen. Lynn married his high school sweetheart, Judy Kay Adams, on April 14, 1962. Together they raised four children.

Lynn was a master of many trades, much to the delight of his great-grandchildren. Some of his favorites included: baking for Albertsons and Safeway; operating heavy equipment and apprenticing as an electrician at Kennecott Copper Mine; volunteering in Midvale, Utah as firefighter, EMT and arson investigator; owning and operating Doug’s Donuts on the St. George Blvd; managing sales for several wholesale bakery companies in the Seattle, Washington, area; driving bus for Washington County School District and washing cars for Avis at the old St. George airport. After retirement he worked hard keeping an immaculate house and yard, raising animals, and assisting friends and family with his many talents.

Lynn was a master story teller and entertained many with tales from his youth and various jobs. He was always "Buddy, when you're dead, you're a dead pecker-head" John Prine learning and passing on his new found knowledge. Lynn was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be dearly missed.

Lynn is survived by his wife, Judy Kay, his children, Christina (Andrew) Sherman, Adam Taylor, and Nathan Taylor; 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sister Nedra Hanks, and brother Kenneth (Connie) Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Marcus J Taylor.

There will be a Celebration of Lynn's Life at his home on March 29, 2024 from 4 pm to 7 pm. Family and friends are invited to this informal open house to gather and share memories of Lynn.

I grew up next door to the Taylor family. Our families were very close. Lynn was 2 years younger than me but we had great times with all the neighborhood kids. I loved his parents, his brother (Kenneth), his sister Nedra, and I have fond memories of their dog Sneezy. I still picture Lynn as he looked when we were growing up!

Lynn and Judy were our next door neighbors in St. George for 5 years. We only lived there part-time, but Lynn was always willing to watch over our house, and take care of any issues that arouse. If someone pulled into our driveway that he didn't recognize he would go over and question them as to what they were doing? We love Lynn, and will miss him greatly. We pray that Judy may be able to move forward with her life, and that she may be able to find peace during this difficult time.
