Lynn Dale Bennett of Slaterville, Utah passed away September 8th, 2021. He went quickly and peacefully at Ogden Regional Hospital. Lynn was born on November 6th, 1953 in American Fork, Utah to Ethel Elizabeth Cardwell Bennett and Monte Robert Bennett. He is preceded in Death by his parents and 2 younger brothers Neil and Aaron Bennett. Lynn is survived by his sisters and 2 brothers: Connielynn Perkins (Kerry Perkins), JayR Bennett (Kim Bennett), Becky Butler(Reed Butler), and Barry Bennett; 3 children: Crystal Worthen (Jason Worthen), Robert Bennett, and Sariah Bennett; 3 grandchildren: Tyson, Katie, and Zack Worthen. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families, other extended family members, and many friends, all who cherished him greatly. Growing up on the farm in Alpine he was a happy young man and always helped with the chores ESPECIALLY when his older sister didn’t want to clean the chickens. Lynn graduated from American Fork High School with the class of 1972. He then went on and Joined the US Army in January of 1973. Lynn served in the United States Army as a Combat Engineer. Lynn planned to retire from Carrier in January so it would be 50 years to the day since he had enlisted. Later in life He worked tirelessly as an appliance repair man. He Loved his job at Carrier Transport as the lead AFS tech.
After returning home from active duty in 1976, he married Dori Harris in April of 1977. He became an instant dad because of Dori's daughter Crystal Lynn Harris born in December of 1976. They added to their family with their son Robert in 1978 and daughter Sariah in 1979. Lynn divorced and later remarried Dori. After they separated the second time he never remarried.
He enjoyed working on his yard, being the best dad and grandpa, hanging out BBQing with Kenny, his best friend, He really liked his job and rarely missed work and he LOVED the Utah JAZZ. Lynn always cared about his family, country and God. Many people comment on how he was always so caring and helpful, you know he would give you the shirt off his back at any given time. He served on active Duty in Germany during the Vietnam war. Lynn was very proud of Love like Lynn Did
his kids especially his daughter Sariah that followed in his footsteps by serving in the Army, his son-in-law Jason and his grandkids. He never missed anything they were involved in. Recently he even helped a friend by watching her son named Noah, everyone knew him as Lynn’s little buddy. Lynn would always try to make sure to call you on your birthday! He tried to get his family together for Christmas dinner with all of his extended family. We could go on for days about Lynn but if you knew him then you already have an idea about the kind of man he was and the character he had.
He was the best dad, a great brother, uncle, son, cousin, nephew and grandpa, but most of all he was an Awesome Friend to have. His compassion towards others will live on as his legacy. We say Love like Lynn Did. It’s not Goodbye-Its until we meet again.
Funeral Services will be held September 20th, 2021 at 11 A.M. on Camp Williams. And a Remembrance of Life Celebration and BBQ will be held for immediate family and close friends at 2 P.M. at the Alpine Legacy Park.

My deepest condolences to Lynn's family. Lynn was my cousin (his mom and my dad were sister and brother). I always remember visiting at Lynn's in Alpine, UT where he grew up. On one particular visit, we went to the gas station to inflate a tire on a bike. Well, we got too much air in it and it exploded on the ride back to the house. I think it was my fault; but we all had a good laugh.
Love, GKC
Fun memory thanks for sharing about my dad
Though I never met Lynn, I can imagine the amazing person he was. He would have to be, for helping to raise such a beautiful daughter like Crystal. In the most recent weeks I have gotten to hear so much about this wonderful man and the selfless, kind guy he was. We are blessed to hear these stories and to have his family in our lives. With love and condolences, God bless you and your family. We are so very sorry for you loss. Thank you Lynn for you service to our country and for the memories that make our friends smile.
That is so sweet, thank you. I'm grateful for friends like you that have been here for me
Oh you guys I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. I hope to be able to come and support you but the chances are I can’t yes I’m undergoing chemotherapy at this time and I’m recommended to not be out around crowds but I will be with you in heart and my prayers be with you that you’ll find comfort in this time love you cousin Susie and Dan
Thank you. So sorry about your cancer I hope you kick its butt
My condolences and prayers are with the family. To my friend Connielyn, it is hard to lose a brother as I just lost my brother LeRoy but there are great memories to keep. May your family be blessed with peace and love and the knowledge that you will see him again.
Dad thank you for always being my dad and being there for me when I need you most. It takes a real man to step into a childs life and step up and do everything for that childs well being. You have always been there in every moment of my life including my kids. You were always the hardest worker and taught me so much even when I annoyed you by ruining the clutch in your truck or throwing away those nasty cigarettes. My life has been better because you were a part of it. I loved our weekly talks and going out to eat sushi with you. Your passing is one of the most profound moments in my life and I will carry on your legacy of compassion for others always. Love your daughter Crystal Lynn
