Luelma Broderick Spencer, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and daughter of God, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on August 01, 2022.
Luelma was born Dec. 27, 1928, in Roosevelt Utah to Hilliard Ruben Broderick and Sarah Louise Ruesch . She is the 2nd youngest of eight children, all of whom have previously passed away (Verena, Clifford, Owen, Howard, Clara, Lee R and DeRae).
Luelma’s mother passed away when she was only five years old. When she was six her father married Crystal Hill and they had 11 children. Five of these siblings have since passed away (Dawn, Jerrold, Dee, Dillard and May) and she is survived by six other siblings, (Tom, Elva, Carol, Roy, Kit and Heidi).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Paul Spencer, and granddaughter April Ann Moyer.
Luelma is survived by her children Mark (Janet), Guy (Jody), Paul, Todd (Geralynn) Ann Kitchen (Dave), Joan Moyer (Craig), John (Julie), Scott and many grandchildren (28) and great grandchildren (40+).
Luelma was married in the Salt Lake Temple on September 3, 1954 to Kenneth Paul Spencer. She was a faithful and righteous woman who loved the Lord and spent countless hours serving and blessing others. She served as a missionary in the Southern States Mission, and served three other church missions with Kenneth to Scotland, Germany, and Ohio. She served in numerous church callings and served for over 20 years as a temple worker where at least once a week she and Ken would arise before 4:00 am to get to the temple on time. She loved playing the piano. Studying the gospel and being with family were Luelma’s first priorities. We love our mom, grandma, great-grandma, and friend. We will miss her.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 13, 2022. Viewing starts at 11:30 am at the Bountiful heights 41st ward, 33 South Moss Hill Drive, Bountiful Utah. Funeral Services start at 1:00.
