Lowell is survived by his sisters Ila and Erma; children Stephen, David with his wife Kimberly, daughters Kim and Jodie with her husband Alan, and youngest son Richard. As well as 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Lowell was born in Rexburg, Idaho on September 27, 1940 to Silas Jesse Hinckley and Zena Althea Westover; the youngest of 8 children and a descendant of the Hinckley pioneers. He was an active member of the LDS church throughout his lifetime where he even served two years as an LDS Missionary with the Southwest Indian Mission area where he taught the gospel to the Navajo Nation, which fueled his passion for the Native American culture. Upon returning from his mission, he served in the United States Army working as a medical transport driver.

Lowell met his wife Margaret, after she moved to Salt Lake from Yorkshire, England; they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on May 7, 1965. For nearly 40 years, he worked with Western Airlines/Delta Airlines, retiring in 2006. He was never afraid of being a hard worker, even frequently working holidays. As a result, he provided well for his family and was able to take them on numerous vacations, such as Hawaii and Disneyland.

He was a dedicated, caring husband and father. All who knew him, remember him fondly for his selfless and giving nature. Lowell believed in the importance of family togetherness. He was also a lover of lighthouses, World War ll planes, old western movies, and the author Louis L’Amour.

Lowell is proceeded in death by his parents Silas Jesse and Zena Hinckley, his brothers Tharon, Arlo, Searle Reed and Garth and sister Donna, and his beloved wife, Margaret.

Thank you for being like a father to me and I’m sorry we never fully made up. You broke my heart. But I think you knew I loved you no matter what. I’m glad I got to get plenty of videos and pictures of you like we regretted that we didn’t do with Margaret. I know you two are together in Heaven. ❤️ I love you Dad.
