Lowell Clark Forsyth passed through the veil of this life into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father and the eagerly awaiting arms of his loving mother, grandmother, and his infant son.

Clark was born December 27, 1934, to LaVon Forsyth and Naomi Clark Forsyth in Bicknell, Utah.  Tragically when Clark was 11 months old a kerosene lantern exploded, burning both Clark and his mother.  Sadly, his mother passed away.  More than willingly, his paternal grandmother, who lived a very simple and rustic life in Fremont Utah took him in and lovingly raised him with great care.  He often spoke of his great love for her.  One of his fondest memories was when in the evening she would open the door of the wood burning oven, place a towel on it, so they could both warm their feet there while she cuddled him and sang Irish folksongs to him.

Clark was 19 when he joined the Marine Corps and then the Navy Seabees.  He was a hard worker and treated others fairly and with respect.  Clark also joined the Army and served a total of 37 years in defense of our country.

Following his tour with the Navy Seabees he returned to Salt Lake City where he met the love of his life Karen Meier.  They were married on April 16, 1960.  Karen and Clark made their home in Salt Lake City.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in October of 1974. They were blessed with four children, two sons and two daughters. Clark always made sure his family knew how much he loved them and how grateful and proud he was of them.

He also began working at EIMAC where he made many lifelong friends including Ray Hansen.  Clark was a skilled mechanic and, body and paint man.  He went to work for the Army National Guard in this capacity and was there for 20 years.  One of the many things he taught his children was kindness, and the importance of being honest in all you do and always being a hard worker.

Clark was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his family.  Many cars were carefully restored thanks to his skill. He was a great dancer, violinist and animal lover.

Clark is survived by his loving wife Karen, son Terrance (Jen) Forsyth, daughters Stacy (Chris) Sanders and Michelle (Todd) Sprouse. In addition, his grandchildren Thomas, Jonathan, Benjamin, Tyler, Haley, Helaman and Benjamin Jude.  Also, great-grandchildren Milo, Logan, and Marty.  He will also dearly miss “Alexa.”

He is preceded in death by his father, LaVon Forsyth, mother, Naomi Clark Forsyth, Grandmother Sarah Elizabeth Simmons Forsyth, brother Terry Forsyth and an infant son.

A Celebration of life will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023, at the Redwood Memorial Estate Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.  A viewing will be held prior to the funeral service at 9:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Military honors will be performed at the Graveside.
