Lou Ella Washburn Jensen

Aug 3, 1925 Jan 18, 2021

Lou Ella Washburn Jensen passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of January 18, 2021 at the age of 95. Lou Ella was born to Lillis Louisa Davis Washburn and Oliver Washburn on August 3, 1925 in Monroe, Utah.

Lou Ella grew up in Monroe on a farm north east of town. On the farm, she learned how to work hard and help her family - from herding sheep and turkeys, to irrigating the family fields. She had many responsibilities and many adventures on her family farm. While in Richfield working at a café called “Chesties”, she met her husband of 72 years Clearn A Jensen, while he was on leave from World War 2 in the Navy. They moved to Redmond were they had three children and then moved to Salt Lake City.

Lou Ella “Ruggy” was the hardest worker in our family. From gardening, being a mother to all, helping her neighbors and lending a hand to anyone in need.

Lou Ella and Clearn leave a legacy with their family, their children: Connie (Byron) Nielsen, Jeff (Carol) Jensen, Judy Beckstrom (Lon Pritchard). Seven grandchildren: Michael (Debbie) Broussard, Jeffrey Matthew (Vicky) Jensen, Cammie (Ryan) Doyle, Robert (Deirdre) Meske, Krista Rich, Jacob (Kayla) Beckstrom, Tyler Hatch. Three step grandchildren: Lisa (Jason) Jackman, John (Jenny) Lindsley, Joe (Aimee) Lindsley, and sixteen great grandchildren.
