Lothar Werner Fred Tegge, age 81, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 1, 2024. Our beloved husband, father and Opa was born on September 14, 1942 in Stettin, Germany to Werner A. Tegge and Doretha Tegge.

At the age of ten years old Lothar immigrated to the United States. He settled in Salt Lake City, Utah and graduated from South High School. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hamburg, Germany. After completing his mission, he moved to Boise, Idaho, where he attended and graduated from Boise State University. Lothar married Mary Lou Anderson on June 6, 1975.

From a young age Lothar loved to take things apart and then put them back together. He loved to fix cars and things in his house, giving him the nickname, “King of the Fixers” by his grandchildren.

Lothar will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Lothar is survived by his wife Mary Lou; children Cindy, Darlene (James), Julie (Dave), Charles (Robynne), Karl and 12 grandchildren.

Along with my brother Mike, the three of us had wonderful times together in our younger days, living on Green Street, attending Nibley Park Ward. I cherish those memories. Sorry I can't attend the services, seeing I'm under the spell of Covid-19 right now... Mein herzliches Beileid. -- Ronald Nabrotzky
