They were sealed in the Idaho Falls temple in April 1947. Louise died in 2015, and he missed her very much. He has 16 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Lorin graduated from Boise Idaho High School during World War 2 and joined the Navy. He was in the Navy ROTC (office training) when the war ended. He did Navy basic training in the Great Lakes area. Because the war ended, he went to California to help put the incoming ships into “mothballs.” On the GI bill he went to college at Idaho State University, where he graduated in Pharmacy. He worked as a pharmacist in Kemmerer, Wyoming; Burley, Idaho; Hagerman, Idaho and Twin Falls, Idaho. He was active in the LDS Church, serving in the Young Men’s program, High Priest quorum leadership, ward missionary program, ward clerk and temple worker among other callings. Especially in Hagerman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He and Louise were avid golfers. He passed along a love of sports to several of his children. One thing Lorin enjoyed for several years starting in high school was playing trumpet in a dance band that had about 4 other instruments. They played big band type music for church and community dances. Thanks to Phyllis, who cared for him in his home full time for the last 2 years.

I was scrolling through KSL obituaries and saw my Uncle Larry. It is never easy to loose a parent, but hurrah for your dad. Hope you are feeling the peace and love of your parents and the Savior.

The best thing I remember about your dad is that he always had a smile.

Love you

Karla Christensen Holyoak.
