Lorin Jay Eldredge

Lorin Jay Eldredge passed away peacefully on January 14, 2022, surrounded by family and his loving wife.

Born on June 20, 1938, to Melvin Aquilla and Eva Luisa Bowles Eldredge. He married his eternal companion and sweetheart, Jacquelyn (Jackie) Coombs in the Salt Lake Temple on June 26, 1958.

Lorin loved the gospel of Jesus Christ, had a fervent testimony, and lived a life of discipleship. He was good to all those around him and never uttered an unkind word about anyone. He served twice as an LDS Bishop, and he lived a life of service to others. Dad loved to fish and to fly and he worked in the travel profession his entire career, most notably for Western, Air France, and United Airlines. He was a loving companion and treasured his wife of 64 years. He was adored by his entire family. Lorin was a true and loyal friend to those fortunate to call him a friend.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie; Children: Todd & Heidi Eldredge, Draper, UT.; Lori & Scott Holloway, Vancouver, WA.; Brian and Huamai Eldredge, Henderson, NV.; Bruce and Julie Eldredge, San Antonio, TX., and Sandy Eldredge, Blackfoot, ID.; Siblings: Laura, Garth, Betty, Jerry, & Roger; 14 Grandchildren; 27 Great Grandchildren; and many Nephews & Nieces.

He was preceded in death by two children: David (1977), & Steven (1967); his Father and Mother; and his brother Keith.

A funeral for Lorin will be held @ 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 22, 2022 at:

North Shore 1st Ward Chapel

4484 Willoughby Dr., South Jordan, UT. 84009.

A short viewing will take place from 10:00 – 10:45AM at the same location.

A Celebration of Life and viewing will be held Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at:

North Shore 1st Ward Chapel
