Lori Furness

Our sweet daughter, Lori Furness, passed away September 15, 2021 at her home in West Jordan, UT surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 10, 1974 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Linda and Barry Furness. She graduated from Jordan Valley School in 1993 and from South Valley School in 1996.
Lori is everyone’s friend--she loves everyone. She loves bowling, miniature golf, and swimming. Lori also enjoys hiking, 4-wheeling, and riding her bike with siblings, nieces, and nephews. She loves to go shopping, sing and dance, and watch movies. She is often seen doing her “secretary work” where she writes, colors, and creates art work and letters for others. Many people are recipients of these gifts of love. We will miss her, and look forward to the day we will all be together again.
Lori is survived by her parents Barry and Linda Furness; siblings Lisa (Ben) Van Otten, Scott (Jenilee) Furness, and Chad (Kris) Stoddard; neices Corinne Van Otten, Toni Van Otten, Taylor (Aaron) Van Woerkom; nephews MacKay Furness, Justin Furness, Austin (Mickell) Stoddard, and Chase (Kaelie) Stoddard; grand neices NaVee and Hadlee Stoddard; grand nephew Hayes Van Woerkom; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whom she loved and was loved by so dearly.
Lori is preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Emma Furness, her uncle Carl Furness, and her cousin Angie Furness.
We would like to thank and give appreciation to First Choice group who lovingly cared for Lori – Collette, Carrie, Meagan, Natasha, Tammy, Dawn, Mike, and Dr. Sarah Wells. In addition, we would also like to say thank you to Active Home Healthcare who loved and cared for Lori initially, and led us to First Choice.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday September 22, 2021 at Welby Stake Center (8841 South 4800 West, West Jordan). A viewing will be held Tuesday September 21st from 6 – 8 PM at Redwood Memorial (6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan) also from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM prior to the services at the Welby Stake Center. Interment will follow at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan.
