Loretta Lynn Rivera

Oct 12, 1955 Aug 24, 2022

Loretta passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 after living with dementia for the last several years. Though we mourn the loss of such a beautiful life, we also rejoice knowing she’s fully healed and whole celebrating with her Savior.

Loretta was born October 12, 1955 in Murray, Utah to Jake and Ruth Redding and grew up with three brothers and two sisters.

Loretta recently celebrated 46 years of marriage to her loving and devoted husband, Rick Rivera. They have three children and five grandchildren who she absolutely adored, and her dog Sophie who was always by her side.

Loretta was a loving wife, an amazing mother, the best grandma, a caring sister, aunt and friend to so many. She lit up when she saw her grandkids and always had a fun craft or activity for them to do. She was so creative and had a true gift for teaching and caring for children. She held many different roles including Sunday school teacher and director, business owner, childcare provider, and teacher. She put her heart into everything she did. Her love for God was evident in how she cared for and loved people, always welcoming and generously giving of herself with no expectations. She loved hosting people at her home and always made sure there was a fresh pot of coffee going. Anyone who had a conversation with her would walk away feeling the genuine interest and care she’d give. She was never too busy to make you feel important.

Loretta always found beauty in nature and was in awe of every sunset she saw. She knew how to find the good in people and situations, and was always encouraging and so loving.

We miss you and love you so much and will always remember you with a bright smile, a kind heart, and a peaceful presence.

Loretta is survived by her husband Rick Rivera, her children Daniel Rivera, Richard Rivera, and Jessica (Jacob) Ramsey, and her grandkids Judah, Kylah and Enoch Rivera, and Olivia and Owen Ramsey. As well as her brothers Frank, Kenny and Kerry Redding, and sister Penny Redding and countless loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Ruth Redding, and her sister Lorraine Redding.
