Linda Kay Meyers

Jan 27, 1964 Jul 30, 2023

Linda Kay Meyers, 59, unexpectedly passed away on July 30, 2023, at her home in Salt Lake City. She was born on January 27, 1964, to Carl LaMar “Moe” Meyers and LaRaine Curtis Meyers in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Linda is the Mother of Pearl, a gem to us all, and literally the mother of Pearl Mohammadi Carlson and grandmother to Ellie Carlson. Being Pearl’s mother was the most important part of Linda’s life. She loved her fiercely. Linda was a fun-loving child, a free-spirited teenager, and a loving young mother.

At the age of 22, Linda was diagnosed with cavernous angiomas in her brain and underwent her first brain surgery. At 25, during her second brain surgery, she had a stroke on the operating table, leaving her right side paralyzed

and with a severe speech impediment. Despite her difficulties, she was gregarious; she laughed loudly and loved freely, calling everyone “Hon, oh Hon,” and making friends wherever she went.

Linda loved music, dancing, cooking, and hosting her friends and family. She found great joy and companionship in the dogs she shared her life with. She enjoyed fishing, camping, and river trips with her friends and dad. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and always loved by her family.

Survived by daughter, Pearl; granddaughter, Ellie; mother, LaRaine Meyers; brother, Randal Meyers; sister, Sheila (Stephen) Barnish and nieces, Maggie, Sophie, and Lillie Barnish. Proceeded in death by her beloved father.

A celebration of life will be held for friends and family. Please contact the family for details.
