Ann was born on November 12, 1954 to Dr. Reed Parkinson Larson and Lennox Adamson in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her life was filled with music, scholastics, hard work, and love for her family and Savior.

Ann cultivated a lifelong love for music by playing the violin in the Utah Youth Symphony, East High’s violin sextet and Orchestra, and the University of Utah Orchestra. She also sang in East High’s Acapella group. Ann later formed a Chamber Quartet group with high school friends that played for 15 years in various recitals, church meetings, weddings, and open houses.

Ann attended East High School where she was sophomore prom queen and student body historian. During her senior year, Ann was awarded the Annual Rotary Bee Scholarship to the college of her choice. She chose to attend the University of Utah, where she served as an officer in the Chi Omega Sorority. Ann graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of University Studies degree in Health Science. She later graduated from Brigham Young University with a Associate’s Degree in Nursing.

Ann married Donald Edwin (“Ted”) DeMill in the Salt Lake Temple on March 22, 1977. Shortly after, they moved to California where Ted attended UCLA. Ann worked as an R.N. at Brotman Memorial Hospital on the post-surgical floor and later at Santa Monica Hospital on the surgical floor. When Ann and Ted moved back to Salt Lake City in 1979, Ann worked at LDS Hospital in the operating rooms. As a shift supervisor, she was responsible for staffing, payroll, employee counseling, and all surgical cases. She also enjoyed working in the operating room with Dr. Russell M. Nelson. While raising their three sons, Ann helped Ted start Interwest Supply Company by managing payroll and human resources duties. Ann’s attention to detail combined with her hard work helped lay the foundation for the success of the company today.

Above all else, Ann devoted her life to her three sons. She was a proud, dedicated mother who provided a loving atmosphere filled with many opportunities for her sons’ learning and growth. Her children have fond memories of her selfless actions and constant belief in their individual successes. Ann exemplified Christlike love and kindness by believing in, getting to know, supporting and loving individuals. She remembered small details about other people’s lives and made each person feel important. Her siblings, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews recall Ann’s kindness and creativity during family parties and trips to Bear Lake. Ann always found joy in being with family, especially when her four grandchildren were present.

Ann strived to live the gospel of Jesus Christ and had an unwavering testimony of the power of the Savior’s Atonement in her life. Despite severe health trials, she trusted in and loved her Savior and radiated optimism. Ann had a firm testimony about the power of prayer and the plan of salvation.

Ann is survived by her three children: Adam (Melissa), David (Natalie) and John DeMill; four grandchildren (Hailey, Nora, Hudson, and Cole DeMill); and three brothers: William (Robin), Brent (Mary), and Eric (Lori) Larson. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to her wonderful caregiver Luisa Martinez, staff at Spring Gardens Assisted Living Center, and care team from Canyon Hospice.
