LeeAnn Boehme Jackson 1954-2020

Christmas morning, we lost our sweet and loving wife, mother, and grandmother due to complications of Covid-19. She was surrounded by her family and precious dog Lucy.

LeeAnn was born September 18, 1954 in Murray Utah to Ervin Frederick Boehme and Barbara Pearl Boehme. LeeAnn loved her six siblings; Laraine, Lynn, Marlene, Brian, Fred, and Carolee and cherished her relationship with each of them. She always spoke fondly of her childhood, riding bikes with friends, spending time with cousins at the farm in Idaho, cruising State Street in her blue Mustang, and family trips to Bear Lake that still continue yearly. As a teenager she worked at the Frostop in Kearns where she met the love of her life Carl Oakland Jackson. LeeAnn was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and she and Carl were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on February 14, 1975.

LeeAnn and Carl were the perfect pair and complimented each other completely. LeeAnn was spunky while Carl was calm. She was sure to express her mind while he was there to patiently listen and allow her to be herself. Carl loved and adored LeeAnn as did everyone who knew her, and he was happy to share her love and light. People were drawn to her and felt compelled to be around to ask for advice or to feel her love and encouragement. You were sure to find someone that knew and loved her everywhere she would go, even in different states. Her influence was vast and remarkable.

She was deeply proud of her children and grandchildren. From her son “Chef Jeff from TV” to her “miracle” grandson Jack, each member thought they were her favorite and knew without a doubt that she loved them each individually and immensely. If you ask any of her nieces or nephews, they would say that they were Aunt LeeAnn’s favorite. She had a gift of making everyone feel important, valued, and loved.

LeeAnn loved the arts and never missed an opportunity to catch a play or any performance at local theaters. There was always a song in her heart and tune on her lips as she loved to sing and hum in perfect harmony with any song. She loved going to movies and went weekly with family and friends. LeeAnn’s creativity flourished as she excelled in creating porcelain, greeting cards, and many other crafts.

LeeAnn wore many hats but her favorite and most fun was that of the OG Party Planner. She organized many memorable New Year’s, holiday, and surprise birthday parties, and never missed the opportunity to entertain. She loved watching “Dancing with the Stars” with her “ladies” every week, a ritual that lasted for years. It was small events like this that provided memories and bonding moments that her friends and family will never forget. She was also a bit of a prankster; her many victims will forever be impressed with her wit and the thoughtfulness she put into each joke.

LeeAnn was an extreme competitor and loved games such as Upwords, hand and foot, and the marble game just to name a few. Depending on who you ask she was either a really good player or a really good cheater. Her children and grandkids would even admit to learning a few of her dirty tricks, which she learned from and passed down from her own mother. Watching LeeAnn and her sister Laraine play Upwords was pretty funny as they both used the same dirty tricks they learned from their mother and both would claim they were the better player and champion.

LeeAnn loved to swim and was frequently seen each summer at the Kearns pool with her portable oxygen tank in tow. Even in the cold you could find her doing water aerobics just to take a dip in the pool. She loved the water and like Moana was drawn to the ocean, making Hawaii and cruises some of her favorite vacations.

LeeAnn made many friends wherever she went especially at the places she worked. Her patience and love for all was a blessing to her career as a paraeducator for the Granite School District as she had the opportunity to teach, build up, and shine light on the many students and coworkers she met along the way. She had such a positive impact on so many especially on those who needed it the most.

LeeAnn loved the Lord and His gospel and attending the temple as a patron and worker brought her peace and happiness. Although her earthly body was weak and broken her spirit and testimony were strong and unwavering. Her example of charity, acceptance, forgiveness and unconditional love is a blessing and shining light for all of us to follow. She is free of her bodily ailments and is now able to spread that shining light without any earthly impairment.

Survived by her loving family: husband Carl, daughter Amy (Jerry) Bryner, son Jefferey (Amber) Jackson, son Matthew Jackson and 6 grandchildren; Shylee, Jackson, Derek, Cameron, and Isaac. Preceded in death by her parents, her brother Brian, and her dear grandson Tyler. Among other family members and furry friends who have been reunited at last.

Funeral services to be held on Saturday January 9th at 12:00pm preceded by a family viewing 10:00am - 11:45am at The Church of Jesuse Chirst of Latter-Day Saints, 7000 South 4825 West, West Jordan, Utah 84084. Following Interment services 2:00pm at Redwood Memorial Estates Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road.
