Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend passed away August 16, 2020. She was born on December 23, 1927 in Tremonton, Utah to Effie M. Mennear and Charles Roberts. She was married to Howard N. Christensen on April 29, 1950 in Tremonton, Utah. She cherished her family members and they loved her in return.
Mom had many talents. She loved to sew, crochet, quilt blankets and embroider. She loved making Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls and doilies for family and friends. She made handcrafted beautiful Christmas stockings that we all cherish.
She cooked and baked like every day was Thanksgiving. Her peanut butter balls were out of this world. She worked hard to help support her family and retired from Eimac. She cared deeply about her family, and was also there to listen and help us through our trials.
She kept an impeccable home which we all loved and we all inherited the Christensen Curse of cleaning.
She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to the moon and back and she will be greatly missed in all of our lives. We appreciate all she did for us through the years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard N Christensen, parents, and siblings.
She is survived by her children, Kaye Christensen, Karen Gordon (Victor), Howard A Christensen (Kathy). Grandchildren, Peter (Amy), Christopher (Kris), Jessica (Jad), Ali, Sarah and Eric. Great grandchildren, Aspen, Kayla, Brooke, Essence, Beau, Tage, Jack, Katelyn and Dash.
We would like to thank the staff at Legacy Retirement Residence in South Jordan. Also the staff at Applegate Home Health and Hospice for the great care of our dear mother, especially Terral and Donna. She had many ministering angels from the Legacy Branch that took the time to visit and cared for our mom which we appreciated very much.
An outdoor service and graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 S Redwood Rd, West Jordan, Utah 84123.
“Laura Lil Pills” always said “I don’t know beans about it” which we all laughed at, but it wasn’t the truth.
Following Salt Lake County’s mandate on facial coverings, face masks are required at all public gatherings. Social distancing will be enforced. For those unable to attend the services, Memorial Mortuaries and Cemeteries are offering a livestreaming of the funeral service on Zoom.
