Reflections of Life
Kristie Michelle Nixon was born on March 22, 1976, to Cynthia Ware and Don Nixon in Salt Lake City, Utah. The youngest of four daughters, she completed the tight-knit crew of sisters, Lacey, Tracey, and Stacey, who each shared an unbreakable bond that carried them through life’s greatest challenges.
Kristie spent her childhood in Utah, with a brief period in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Though her early years were marked by hardship and instability, including time spent in foster care, she developed a resilience that would define her for the rest of her life. She learned early how to protect what mattered most and, above all, how to love fiercely.
That love shone brightest when she became a mother. Pregnant at fifteen, she was determined to raise her son despite the obstacles placed before her. When faced with the possibility of losing him, she fought with every ounce of her strength; a mother’s love became her guiding force. Over the next eight years, she welcomed three more children, each one adding to the purpose that kept her moving forward.
Kristie faced struggles along the way, including a difficult battle with addiction. Yet she did not let her challenges define her. She rose, renewed in spirit, proving that recovery is possible and that even after the hardest storms, healing and forgiveness can bloom. Her heart remained open, kind, giving, and full of grace.
To know Kristie was to know laughter. She loved music, dancing, and was the light of every room she entered. Stoic at heart, strong always, she carried humor and fire in equal measure. She adored her children above all else, they were her greatest pride, her greatest joy, and the truest reflection of her resilient soul.
Kristie departed this life surrounded by love, leaving behind a story of courage, transformation, and unwavering devotion.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Dae’Shawn Nixon, Alexis Nixon, Maliek Nixon, and Sarandon Schneider; her beloved sister, Lacey Nixon; a host of nieces and nephews; and many cherished friends who will forever carry her laughter and light within their hearts.
She will be deeply missed, but her love continues strong, enduring, and eternal.
