Kris Andrew Kimball

1966 – 2022

On April 4, 2022, in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, Kris Kimball left this earth a better place than he found it 55 years earlier. He made a positive impact on many people throughout his life and this impact on others will be long-lasting. He was loved by family, friends, and work associates. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for the people he loved. Kris had a magnetic, charismatic personality and had an incredible sense of humor. He collected life-long friendships through his genuine love of others.

Born on August 02, 1966 in Fillmore, Utah, Kris was the fifth of six children to Parley LeGrand and LaNila Joy Kimball. Due to his Fillmore roots, he was always a cowboy at heart. Kris and his five siblings mostly grew up in Sandy, Utah, where Kris became an Eagle Scout and a standout quarterback for the Brighton Bengals. He remained a Bengal enthusiast all his life.

Kris had four beautiful, talented, and hard-working children. There was nothing more important to Kris than his children and grandson. He was often heard boasting about their accomplishments and was certain that they could do no wrong. He loved coaching and watching them play sports, and was their biggest cheerleader on and off the field. He was quick to tell them how proud he was of them… but also when they should “just rub some dirt on it.”

He was an avid football fan and coaching youth football became one of his life passions. In addition to teaching his team how to succeed on the field, he also touched the lives and positively influenced his players. Kris cared deeply about the well-being of every person he coached.

As a key contributor to Kimball Property Maintenance, Kris helped his brother Russ and others grow the company to become the largest landscaping business in Utah. Kris valued hard work and was happiest after a day of manual labor outside, especially if he had his little grandson Henry there to help him. He was fiercely loyal and protective of his family and friends.

Kris is survived by his children Kolby Kimball (Janessa), McKenna Coletti (Connor), Kadyn Kimball (Corbin), Wylie Kimball (Abigail), grandson, Henry Coletti, father Parley LeGrand Kimball (Sherrie), brother Scott Kimball (Wendy), sisters Lori Brown, Jill Marsala, Andrea McBride (Darl), sister-in-law, Paula Kimball, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, LaNila Joy Kimball, and his close friend and brother, Russell LaVoy Kimball.

A celebration of Kris and his life will be held Friday, April 8, 2022 at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary, 3115 East Bengal Boulevard in Cottonwood Heights beginning at 5 pm.

Kris was always authentic, and he genuinely loved those who came into his life. He will be so dearly and deeply missed by many.
