Kirk Lane Madsen

January 31, 1967-December 2, 2025

Kirk Lane Madsen was born in Mesa, Arizona on January 31, 1967, as a very large bouncing baby boy-the 5th in the family. He spent most of his early years living in Tempe and Phoenix, Arizona.

The family moved to Hurricane and later St. George. He was active in his local scout troop and enjoyed singing in the choir. He had a ready smile for everyone, and he soon discovered his adoration for fishing. His greatest skill was being a chef in training in the kitchen. He honed for his skill in his family's local business, Granny B's, before moving to other venues.

Many might remember him as the cook at the Brandin' Iron in Pine Valley where he spent many summers and a couple winters cooking up those yummy steaks and dutch oven potatoes. He also worked in the kitchen at Dixie College helping behind the scenes and occasionally making the baking items when needed.

His family treasures the memories of him cooking at family get togethers. He would whip up various breakfasts for everyone with a personal touch. He was a master at grilling steaks or whipping up a pumpkin chiffon pie.

His siblings loved hanging out with him as he was the genius at Quick-Wit. His one liners and playing off random comments made him a favorite at reunions. He was always encouraged to be a comedic writer for Hollywood.

He is survived by his two sisters, Jody Barton and Angela Peterson and his three brothers, Ron Madsen, Kevin Madsen, and Lance Madsen. He was preceded in death by his parents Laurel and Floydene Madsen; brother, L.D. Madsen; and sister, Vicki Madsen.

Professional cremation services were performed by Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 South Bluff Street, St. George, Utah. 435-673-2454.
