Here it is November and I just learned of Rusty’s passing from a fellow BYU golf team member. Rusty was a dear friend & a great man. My sincere condolences to his wife, children and family.

Ironically, Rusty’s name & presence has been in many of conversations in the past 3 months.

First, in mid September my wife & were visiting our youngest daughter in Port Townsend/Chimacum, WA and I took a road trip with her Signifcant other to Bellingham to pick up some farm equipment. I was telling him and the family about Rusty and that Bellingham was his home town and here I am, now late in life, visiting his hometown.

Secondly, we own a vacation lake home north of Charlotte, NC.Several of my neighbors are car enthusiasts and especially muscle cars of the late 60’s early 70’s. My only contribution is to talk about Rusty’s red Olds 442, and even this week, continuously send me emails and texts with photos of that era Olds with the words, “ here’s one like your BYU buddy’s”…. So many here know Rusty through his car!!!!

Lots of love to his family and know he was and is someone very special.

His forever friend,

Rusty and I played on the golf team together at BYU. We also room together our sophomore year. Rusty was a bit shy but really a good guy and a very good golfer. I will miss seeing him at Cougar days. Rest In Peace with the lord Rusty.
