On August 11, 2022 after a visit with her daughter and grandson, Kathy left this life after a battle of dementia. She passed away in the arms of the love of her life, her husband of 30 years, Brent Barnes, at their home in Murray, Utah. She was met with the loving arms of her recently passed mother, Anita Peterson.

She will be missed by many, mostly her children and grandchildren. Brandon Irish, Cammie and Steve, and kids, Kyle, Rylee, Justice, Bentlee, and Aston Barney. Her wonderful bonus children and grandchildren. Kurt Barnes, Shane and Sherrie, and kids, Jaxton and Alexi Barnes. She is also survived by her wonderful siblings, Dorothy Kemp, Debby and George Heuser, Eddie and Robin Roberts, and Robin and Stephen Bryce. She was adored by all of her nieces and nephews. She was always the fun aunt, that would play with you, and would accept you as you were, and give you ice cream for breakfast.

Kathy was known for being very independent and for saying and doing whatever she wanted. What you saw is what you got. She talked to anyone and everyone, and was a friendly neighbor. She loved to host get-togethers with friends and family, and always decorated for every holiday, mostly in pink! She was a beautiful woman, who was admired for her style and charm.

Her favorite thing in the world were her grandbabies. She would always tell them to stop growing up, and just how gorgeous they were.

She has left too soon, and has left a hole in our hearts. She will be missed greatly, but not forgotten.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Willow Creek Country Club on August 27th, 2022, 6pm.

I’m so sorry to hear about Kathy, our mutual friend Fern sent me the obituary. I haven’t seen her in years but what fond memories I have of her. We lived in an apartment together in the Avenues, we had such a great time going out dancing and meeting up with friends.

Fond memories of this lovely lady. So sorry for you loss.
