Kathie Lyn Mendoza of Washington, Utah passed away on October 24, 2023. Kathie was born April 21, 1970, in Los Angeles, California. Her parents are Henry and Mary Mendoza. They had four children: Diane, Lori, Kathie, and Mark.

Kathie was raised in Southern California and spent her formative years in Mission Viejo, California. She attended Mission Viejo High School and Ricks College. In 1995, Kathie married Scott David Steinert of Lake Forest, California. They raised their four children in Orange and Riverside Counties, California and Alpine, Utah. Kathie moved to St. George in 2021 to be close to her children enjoy the warm sunny climate.

Kathie’s personality could light up a room with her infectious laugh and smile. Kathie was loved by many who cherished her contagious optimism towards a better day. She had a passion and talent for painting, photography and loved exploring the outdoors, spending many days on the lakes and trails around Southern Utah. Her favorite pastime was enjoying off roading and kicking up red dirt in her bright red Jeep Wrangler.

She is survived by her parents, siblings, and her four children: Josh, 32. Nathan, 26. Allison, 21 and Mark, 20.

For her friends and family, a celebration of Kathie’s life will be held Friday, November 10th at 11:00 am MST at Spilsbury Mortuary, located at 110 S Bluff St. St. George, Utah, 84770. The interment will follow at Tonaquint Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday the 9th between 5:00 -7:00 pm MST at the mortuary.
