Karl Hans Scheese (Jan 9, 2001 – Jan 16, 2021) passed away unexpectedly. He was the 4th child born to Richard Allen Scheese Jr. and Carolyn Hawkins Scheese. Karl graduated from Woods Cross High School (WXHS) and was most recently enrolled in the Apprentice Electrician Program at DATC. He had goals of building and renovating homes and becoming an electrician.
Karl had a wonderful sense of humor and was a kind, gentle, happy soul who loved animals and was considerate of all people. He loved to serve and was always willing to donate his time and energy for others. Karl enjoyed hiking, running, mountain biking, competitive shooting, and being outdoors.
He was patriotic, loved his country, and earned his Eagle Scout award. His Eagle project involved retiring 250+ American flags; enlisting the help of veterans, military, police, and community members.
Karl excelled academically taking AP classes in calculus, psychology, and physics. He was awarded both academic and music scholarships. Karl loved music and played several instruments including violin, piano, ukulele, and bass trombone. He distinguished himself as a member of the Jazz Band at Woods Cross High School and played in the All-State Orchestra. Karl completed a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Wichita, Kansas. He spoke fondly of the people he served on his mission, his companions, members, and those with whom he associated. He loved serving the Lord and had a strong testimony of his Savior and the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.
Survived by his mother and father, brothers Benjamin (Rachel), Spencer (Libbie – fiancé), and Stephen (Caylee), nieces (Adelaide & Danielle), Grandma Pat Scheese, and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Sounds like your son was astounding. So sorry about your loss.
So sorry to hear about this heart breaking loss! We mourn with you.
What a giant among men he is. I know that wonderful people are called to do the work on the other side. We all miss him here and our lives have been enriched by his friendship, wonderful spirit and everlasting smile.
Rick,
So sorry to hear of your loss. Please know that you and your wife are in my thoughts and prayers.
What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful person. I would have loved to have known him. I'm sure he has been a tremendous example to all whose paths have crossed his. My condolences to his family, whose hearts surely are broken.
I have had a really hard time hearing this news this week from Michael. It has bothered me deeply and I have been quite emotional all week. I loved this kid and the chance I got to know and coach him a bit as a wrestler. Was always one of my favorites as he’d always listen and was just a joy to be around. I know that Kellen and Michael thought highly of Karl and he was always one of their favorite teammates with Tech Wrestling, Junior High, and High School. Such a good kid and I feel so greatly for him and his family. You will be missed Karl.
Absolutely loved Karl. He was in the Band at WX and was a very fine musician and just the greatest kid! I could always count on Karl to be prepared with his music and he sounded great! You will be missed Karl. Our hearts go out to your family at this difficult time.
