In Loving Memory of Karen Dee Billings

November 13, 1940 - September 19, 2023

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Karen Dee Billings, age 82, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2023, in her home in Murray, Utah, with her cherished dog by her side.

Karen was born on November 13, 1940, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to her parents Earl Stewart and Laura Meier Stewart. On October 5, 1960, she married Edward Billings, and together they shared 35 years together building their life and raising two children, Cory and Connie.

For 17 years, Karen and Ed were the proud owners and operators of Club 48 in Murray, Utah, one of her most cherished annual traditions at the club was organizing and participating in the Sub for Santa program, which provided assistance and hope to families in need during the holiday season.

One of Karen's greatest joys in life was spending time with her grandchildren. Karen had a green thumb and could always be found outside working in her garden, where she grew the most beautiful Peonies.

Karen is survived by her son, Cory Billings, her daughter, Connie Later (Bob), and her adoring grandchildren: Ryan Gatzemeier (Cinnamon), Casey Billings, Tasia Thorne (Jake), Trevor Billings, Jace Gatzemeier (Gabbie), as well as her great-grandchildren: Cache Billings, Oliver, Saylor, and Indie Thorne, Karsten, Aspen, and Monroe Gatzemeier, Asher, and Jovi Gatzemeier, and Colt Billings. She is also survived by her sister, Janet Mower, and her brother, Gary (Cynthia) Stewart.

To honor Karen's remarkable life, we invite you to join us for a Celebration of Life at the Lone Peak Indoor Pavilion, located at 10140 S. 700 E. Sandy, UT 84094, on Monday, October 16, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. We will gather to share stories, memories, and the love we all held for Karen, a woman who will forever remain in our hearts and will be deeply missed.
